Full Description
A late BA bronze spearhead, found in the bed of the River Trent during bridging work at Gunthorpe "some years ago", was brought into NCM by a workman but kept by him. It was in good condition, with a hollow-cast head and a pin hole at the junction of the socket with the blade. It was a type at the end of the bronze spearhead series. (1)
NCM have no information regarding this find, which is also unknown at NWM. (2)
Spearhead, class V, Ind Phases IX-XI, LBA. Length c 202mm, mbw c 54mm, socket dia c 27mm. (3)
