In her will Mary E. Hardstaff (1843-1899) left £3,838 and instructions to build almshouses. Along with houses at Giltbrook, Kimberley and Mansfield Woodhouse … [Hardstaffs Almshouses, Gedling] were constructed as a result. (1)
