Full Description

Early C17, but much altered in late Georgian times. Of the original work the H-plan with three-storey gabled wings and some mullion-and-transom-cross windows still discernible. (1)
Originally the home of the Digby family. Sir John Digby was High Sheriff of Nottingham and a loyal supporter of Charles I [r.1625-1649]. Captain Need lived here during the 19th century and was responsible for castellating the property. (2)
