Full Description

The Home Brewery was founded in 1880; the present buildings are modern but have decorative stone panels depicting the brewing process (1).
Brewery office building and water tower. 1936. Designed for Home Ales Brewery by T Cecil Howitt. (2)
1938: Detailed plans were drawn up to … build a large, modern office block fronting on Mansfield Road. Cecil Howitt completed his plans in September, and building operations started almost immediately. 1939: The new offices [were] complete with the exception of the tower [which] was not to be built until the early 1950's.
