House. Late C17 with early C19 extensions and alterations. (2)
A waterfilled ditch or moat lies to the N of Woodhouse Hall (as shown on OS). The Hall buildings themselves stand on a substantial platform. (3)
Hall occupied by John Ludlow … still surrounded by a moat. (4)
Robert earl of Kingston dwelt at his ancient house of Woodhouse the most part of 40 years. (5)
