An early C19 building constructed predominantly of a hard pale, brownish yellow, coarse textured, peloidal and oolithic, dolomithic limestone probably quarried locally from the Permian Cadeby Formation. The lodge is roofed with a purple metamorphic slate probably from the Penrhyn Quarries in North Wales. (3)
