Full Description

Founded in 1552. The present neo-Tudor red-brick building with a central Gothic lantern and spire is of 1855-7 by Decimus Burton. Behind, a former boarding-house wing extended in 1874. In the wing on the l., extending to the road, science rooms and gymnasium of 1896, and a new hall of 1937, partly incorporating earlier cloisters, all in a larger version of the original style.
