Full Description

Built in 1882 by William Bradford for Caparn & Hankey. Offices and brewhouse of 1889 at the back, on the site of the early C19 Union Workhouse, originally U-shaped[,] the left wing survives. (1)
Castle Brewery … was built for James Hole [sic]; the stone-built office block … is dated 1882. Brewing ceased in the early 1980's. (2)
Office range at former brewery, incorporating remains of early C19 workhouse in rear wing. Dated 1882 over main entrance. Late C19 and mid C20 alterations. By William Bradford for the brewers Caparn & Hankey. (3)
