We live in this house at the moment and obtained the deeds. We've been able to ascertain that the house was sold by three people on 5th June 1742, one of which was Ann Cass. She and her husband John Bright were left the house by her mother (also Ann) who dies in 1742 (presumably after the 5th of June!). Ann (the mother) was married to Christopher Cass who was an architect and died April 21st, 1734. It's certain then that the house predates 1742, and likely I imagine that it predates the death of Christopher Cass given he was an architect and had designed country houses. We will probably never know!
