Full Description

DELISTED 21.06.2013 (2)
Barns. Mid C18, with mid C20 additions. (1)
Outbuildings at Pleasley Hill Farm, built of coursed rubble limestone with clay pantile roof coverings, and dating to the mid-late C18, with alterations and repairs of the C19 and C20. (2)

De-listed for the following principal reasons:

* Architectural interest: the buildings are of very modest architectural quality, and now display none of the distinctive details such as threshing doors, breathers or taking-in doors characteristic of barns of their period, nor do they contain fixtures and fittings which might indicate later phases of use or mechanised processing;

* Alteration: the buildings have undergone significant levels of alteration which do not appear to indicate significant changes in farming practice, but which have adversely affected their original character and appearance;

* Group Value: Group value with the farmhouse does not outweigh the modest nature of the barns. (2)
