Full Description
Kirklington Hall (Rodney School). Called in 1797 'a large modern building', though this was the result of a thorough remodelling of an earlier one. Now mostly of 1904, stuccoed, with a strong Jacobean flavour. Very little of the C18 house can be deciphered, except a fine ceiling and fireplace of c.1775. Nothing earlier, unless a section of exposed brickwork and timber-stud partition is accepted as genuine. (1)
Named 'The Hall'. (2)
House, now school. 1779, much enlarged and altered 1904 by G. F. Armitage for Thomas Craven. (3)
