Submitted 05/04/1877. Stockwell Gate. Two houses and shops [for] John Lowe. (no ref as no architect known - DC/M 3/5/1 no. 79)
March 1893. Alterations to Mr. Lowe's Premises (cover reads 'Alteration to Houses'). R. Frank Vallance, FRIBA. (1)
3-storey property, rendered/painted upper storeys, granite tiled ground floor shop front, separate entrance to alley to right, property now functioning as a bar/restaurant. Above flush plain cornice is a continuous sill band, to range of 5no. curved top apertures, single/single sashes, with stepped surrounds, to outer edges stepped pilaster, above further continuous sill band to similar window range and surrounds, continuous stepped pilaster to outer edges, above continuous band in line with lintels but stepped back slightly, above plain cornice and above stepped cornice to shallow parapet, 2no. gable dormers with decorative barge boards and finials.
