Full Description

Pond Farm and Willoughby Farm are given the single name of 'Willoughby' on Sanderson's Map (1) and the County Series (2).
Brick-built in Flemish Bond. Original fenestration of sash windows replaced by wide modern tripartite windows in uPVC. Door also uPVC. Gable end sash window openings now infilled with brick. Unsympathetically extended to the rear. Front elevation has been repointed in cement mortar. Replacement concrete roof tiles, gable end stacks, replacement asbestos gutter. Unsympathetic metal stake boundary (J Buckley 2021). (3)
Neighbouring brick-built (Flemish Bond) two-storey barn with attached single-storey stable. Both have pantile gabled roofs. Barn has diamond breathers two both floors and full height double barn doors, agricultural style window and recessed plank door with iron fittings and with stone hinge dressings. C20 lean-to extension to the west gable. Attached single-storey range to the east has one full height opening with bullnose brick jambs, one door under a brick segmental arch with stone dressing and 2 louvered windows under segmental brick arches. The west end of the single-storey range may have been a cart shed, with opening now infilled. Stable to the east end (J Buckley 2021). (3)
The C19 structure to the east of the farmhouse appears to have been demolished, prior to 2010 according to historic Street View image. (3)
