[In] 6 Eliz (1564) … William Wylde [held] the Mannor of Netylworth. The old mansion here … was pulled down, and the present ... house erected in 1785, by the late Mr. Wylde, who [was] dying when it was nearly completed. (4)
Site visit 14.04.2004. A reset datestone in the surviving rear wing of the manor house reads '1566 W W'. (5)
Hunter's Lodge and Gamekeeper's Lodge were locally listed by MDC on 07.07.2005. Named as 'Former Service Wing at Nettleworth Manor' and described as: Of coursed local limestone with ashlar dressings and a graduated slate roof. South gable rendered. Long two storey range with lucarnes; all windows are plain sashes in projecting ashlar surrounds. Building features a reset datestone reading '1566 WW'. The associated Manor House was willingly destroyed by its owner, Mr. Neville, in 1940, only the service wing was left standing, which has now been restored and converted to dwellings. (6)
