The almshouses are constructed of coursed local limestone, slate roof and six brick ridge chimney shafts each topped with a single clay pot.. 6 bays with 3 to either side of a central passageway topped by a Dutch gable which carries two inscribed panels, the higher dated 1844 and the lower 1960. The front entrances to the 6 dwellings are simple flush stone surrounds with recesses for boot-scrapers to one side -one of these still holds its iron scraper. Guttering and rainwater goods in cast iron (absent on rear elevation 2007) The doorway to the central passage is of perpendicular style with hood-mould above. The passage way has a flagstone floor (removed 2007) the passage opens to the rear through a simple undecorated doorway. The rear elevation has 5 gabled brick additions from the 1960 improvements. Rear access is through the 60's additions and these doorways have bulkhead lights to one side. A lean-to style outbuilding backs onto the boundary wall and is also of local coursed limestone roofed in slate -the outbuilding has 4 doorways topped with stone lintels. (2)
