Full Description

The central block of Wiseton Hall was built between 1769 and 1771… it replaced a much older house which stood on the site. … Wiseton Hall was three storeys high, five bays wide … two bow-fronted wings, one storey high, were added c.1800. The whole house was considerably altered, remodelled and enlarged mid C19. … In 1904 considerable repairs and modifications were again made to the building. In 1952 … Sir Robert Laycock inherited the estate. He decided the house was too big for him and had it demolished in 1956. He built a new house on the site of the old Hall in 1962. (1)
