Full Description

Built in 1972-3 (architects Bartlett & Gray) to replace the demolished building in Quaker Lane. Buff brick. (1)
A meeting house typical of the 1970s, combining a simple plan with a striking roof form, top-side lit principal rooms and visual engagement with the garden. It has medium heritage significance. The headstones in the garden have the potential for adding to knowledge about local Quakers. Mans-field [is] a town with very strong associations with George Fox and the origins of the Quaker movement. The building is one of three different designs for the Friends in the Derby and Notting-ham area created by the architects Bartlett & Gray. (2)
staggered pitch gable end, variation of clerestory roof, with flush facades and vertically windows between roof joints, brick, slate roof, with parapet extension to the southwest and walled garden to northeast – extending to further walled garden to north associated with caretaker’s residence.
