Full Description

Church Street … some sensitively designed modern buildings. The branch library is a neat tile-hung building (1960-1 by Robert Matthew, Johnson-Marshall and Partners). (1)
Tall single storey building, set back from the pavement hedge with lower stone wall to front forecourt. Recessed range of windows with overhang supported on metal posts. Front has vertical tiles to upper storeys and concrete panels to overhang cornice and roof. Infill panels between window ranges are diagonally hung timber planks. (2)
