Full Description

Nineteenth century brick dovecote which retains its brick perches and nesting holes. (1)
C19, probably one of the last great dovecotes to be built. (2)
Dovecote at Forest Farm, on east side of A60 between Kighill and Papplewick Lane. Independent rectangular brick structure. Built in 1860/70 - last to be built in Notts?Built when farmed by Mr Curtis Machen and owned by Sir Hugh Seely. Brick walls 18 in thick. Double pitched roof with asbestos sheet. External dimensions 20 ft by 17 ft, 15 ft hight to eaves. Current use as store. Brick nest holes, 370 in 1927. One storey. Awaiting re-roofing. (3)
