Full Description

Lodge named. (1) (2)
William, Earl of Newcastle … employed William Senior … to make maps of his new possessions, and these included one of Clipstone … Park, dated 1630. The park boundary … [began] at a point on Squires Lane between Clipstone and Cavendish Lodge. [NB: This places the Lodge inside the 1630 park boundary. JW] (3)
Site visit 4.6.2003. Farmhouse is of stone, with glazing bar sashes and an octagonal plan south end. No further information as site is private property. (4)
An extensive range of farm buildings situated around … the main house. I would date the present buildings [to] around 1810 to 1820 and I would suggest that most of them are of one build. Their original function [was] mainly stabling. [See Illustrations file. JW] (5)
