Full Description

Master hosier's house with integral workshops. c.1840. Workshop addition c.1900. (1)
A 3 bay wide 2 deep, 3 storey brick construction with a hipped Welsh slate roof and 5 brick chimney stacks. Erected in the mid 1800s and has been altered and extended on more than one occasion, but the original internal layout remains readily interpretable. The building’s design provides a rare opportunity to understand the social and production aspects of the domestic [Hosiery] industry. (2)
