Full Description

Whatton Manor … was demolished c.1966. The house was neo-Elizabethan, symmetrical, of 1838-40, a comparatively early date for the use of this style (cf. for example Harlaxton … Could the architect have been Salvin?). (1)
In 1838 T. D. Hall commenced building a new mansion. It seems to have been finished by 1841. The architect … is traditionally held to have been Anthony Salvin. Another possibility is William Burn, who designed Stoke Rochford and South Rauceby manors … between 1839 and 1842. Demolished in 1964. (2)
