Full Description

Bridge over the River Meden on Newbound Mill Lane, Notts Derbys border. Single span Georgian stone structure. Step arrangement gives access to lower lever and two walkways under bridge. Iron pivot attached to wall under arch. Newbound Mill Farm boundary wall same make up as the bridge. Some concrete work on walkways. Second bridge close by over the Merril Sick, stone with some work done in concrete. Newbound Mill (see M6620) situated to the west of the bridge. (1)

Mansfield had at least one ancient bridge, the Eghtredesbrug … Repairs were made the charge of the Lord of the Manor, in this case Queen Philippa, wife of Edward III, who granted her oaks from Sherwood Forest. (4)
Hartrey Bridge is Eghtredesbrug 1227. (5)
Downe (Nottingham greate way) to Hartley, alias East Bridg, near to Newbound Milne. (6)
