Site visit 5.6.2003. On the original building, carving reads 'Public Baths 1924'. (1)
Civic Trust Awards … commendation. A satisfactory extension to the old … Public Baths. The general effect is lively and represents a real and necessary contribution to the urban scene … [but] a number of small details detract from the quality of the scheme as a whole. J. S. Doncaster [was] architect. (2)
