Schools, St. John's District. Charles J. Neale, Archt., Mansfield. Feby. 1860. (1)
Site visit, 27.8.2003. Only the eastern portion of the school - the girls' and infants' schoolrooms survive. Original boys' room and master's house lost to later buildings. (2)
Former National School: School buildings of local limestone, some stone faced with brick to rear, with timber casement windows in stone surrounds, School buildings of local stone with timber casement windows in stone surrounds, Date stone inscribed 1861 and cast iron hoppers on down pipes inscribed 1935, slate roofs with roof windows. The building is entirely at ground floor level and is now in use as the St. Johns Centre, being located next to St. Johns Church. The girls and infants schoolrooms still stand, but the boy’s schoolroom and master’s house have been lost to later alterations. (3)
