Full Description

The base of a cross at Orston is recorded in Methuen's "Notts", 1910. Now used as a roadside "fender" ((2) implies that it is near the churchyard gate). (1) (2)
At the foot of Orston church tower at SK 7692 4117 is a probable cross socket stone. It is an undressed boulder with a rudimentary socket. No other remains could be seen in the vicinity of the churchyard gates. (3)
Grid ref is for W wall of church tower.
