Full Description
School: A Board School built in 1872. Comprises 2 buildings of Bulwell stone. The main building, to Beardall Street, is arranged in a ‘C’ shaped plan. The windows are mainly modern wooden casements with stone mullions, ashlar lintels set beneath pointed reliving arches. Gables have roundels containing ornate cast iron vent openings. Inside the school are original doors and various fireplaces. This school is of particular interest as one of the earliest board schools in the county. (3)
