Full Description

Headon Hall and Park. (1)
The mansion house of the Wastneys, which was situated in the centre of a small park, and built by the last Sir Hardolph Wastney, from a design of Sir Thomas Hewit in 1710, was pulled down about a year ago. It was pleasantly seated and well wooded. I think Jonathon Acklom, of Wiseton, has an elevation of this seat. (2)
Headon Hall, with Park and extensive avenues. (3)
House gone. (4)
All that survives to mark the site of the old hall is a fine avenue of trees in Headon Wood about half a mile northwest of the village (5)
