Full Description

The remains of an 18th or 19th century building were located just west of B1403 and 75 yards from Welham corner, when the topsoil was removed. The material from the site included hand-made red and yellow bricks, red roofing tiles, and floor cobbling. The pottery included brown and early white glazed wares. There were also lage burnt areas, with much charcoal. Other finds included burnt glass, and animal remains. (1)
It would appear that the site was actually east of the B1403, as indicated by the grid ref. (2)
See L6168 for earthworks.
