Sutton Hall. (1)
A large brick residence built c. 1760 by Samuel Unwin, a hosier, on Forest Lane (present day Station Road), Sutton-in-Ashfield. His sons Samuel and William became the principal cotton spinners and textile manufacturers in Sutton. Sutton Hall was built next to their mill. … By 1863 the house had fallen into disrepair and it was pulled down in 1865. A new house was built on the site in 1884. (2)
