Full Description

Mound lying some 200yds S by E of Lamcote Farm, excavated in summer 1951. The mound is 90ft in diameter and 6-8ft high . There are several smaller tumps to the W of the mound and in the field on the S is high rig and furrow. Excavation produced Med finds. Identified as a motte and bailey and Med "huts". (1)
Levelled and built over. No finds made when adjoining field ploughed. (3)
There appears to be no evidence to support the conclusion that the mound is part of a motte and bailey. (4)
