Full Description

"A poole", on 1649 map of Norwood Park. (1)
The first reference to "Northwode Park" appears in 1388, as the property of Archbishop Neville. In 1649 Edward Cludd had a map prepared (showing ponds) which were presumably used to water the deer, and are likely to have been a feature of the original emparkment. They must also have been important as fish ponds. (2)
