Full Description

Rectangular enclosure, possibly with entrance facing NE (only this shows on Pickering 70). Linear features to N and E, including intersecting parallel linear features (These may be L 1770). (1) (2)
The site of this enclosure has been ploughed and harrowed; the feature is not identifiable on the ground and no surface finds were made in the soil. Topographically the situation is quite flat with an all-round open aspect. Perhaps a ranch enclosure of unknown period. (3)
Morph: 32.3.1 and 32.3.2 part of group: Undated Prehistoric Farmstead. (4)
The enclosure ditch contained numerous sherds of Romano-British pottery of C1 - C4. A small, fragmentary item of bronze was also preserved at the base of the ditch. The finds and evidence for recuts suggest prolonged usage of the enclosure during the RB period. (5)
