Full Description

Ornate wheel cross with carved head. Cross surmounts tapering shaft. Shaft stands in octagonal plinth which surmounts three-stepped base. Names inscribed on octagonal plinth.

2009, April: Community members seeking to relocate the memorial also arranged for its cleaning and the refitting of the plaques with the names inscriptions.

c 2009: Memorial relocated from St Michaels and All Saints Church to junction of Downing Street and Mansfield Road. Addition of tablets with names to plinth as stone was too soft to re-cut inscriptions. (1)
