Full Description

A white stone plinth with two metal plaques affixed to the front. Mounted by a simple tubular steel cross behind with further small bronze plaque attached to the base ; Memorial stands on a concrete base with post and chain railings enclosing. Situated roughly 1km from A614 along a track adjacent to the Watchwood plantation. Crew members killed in the crash are buried behind the war memorial at Wilford hill cemetery. Memorial was erected by coal miners preparing the nearby railway to Calverton colliery. There is very limited access to this memorial.(1).
