Full Description

Four small evaluation trenches were excavated prior to the erection of four benches on land at Glebe Field, Gypsy Lane, Bleasby. The investigation took place as the site was the location of some possible earthworks relating to a vicarage known to have stood here until the mid 19th century. Pottery was recovered from all four trenches totallying 306 sherds. The dates ranged from the 15th through to the 20th centuries with material mixed within contexts showing prior disturbance. (1)
