Summary

18th-19th century family vault within East Bridgford churchyard. A main rectangular chamber constructed of red brick and housed 5 coffins laid on the floor at the western end. A bricked up alcove at the eastern end contained a single coffin.

Full Description

A rectangular stone kerb roughly demarcates the top of the tomb in the churchyard. A main rectangular chamber constructed of red brick and housed 5 coffins laid on the floor at the western end. A bricked up alcove at the eastern end contained a single coffin. The internal length from east to west measured 4.41m while the width from north to south measured 3.5m (approximately). The depth of the tomb was approximately 2.2m. The structure was built of handmade 18th to 19th century red brick with a barrel vault roof. (1)
