Full Description

In the north-east corner, on the Victoria Road frontage and 5.0m from the Potter Street frontage, a small pit was partly excavated, c 1.0 x 0.4 x 0.65m deep. It was packed with large river pebbles capped by a rough limestone slab. It contained a 12th/13th century bowl rim. Interpreted as a post-pad for a substantial timber framed building. (1)
