Full Description

Core 12 - Roman greyware recovered from 90cm depth. (1) This was in the location of a sand dune which has formed since the Bronze Age and provides a rise above the floodplain. Crops planted or settlement here would have been secure from flooding. Dune material clearly overlies archaeology of uncertain date. (2)
