Full Description

Archaeological artefacts were discovered in the field that is presently used for crops (Area 03). The topsoil here was relatively deep (0.9m) and it was during the stripping of this that some pieces of flint and pottery were found. Included amongst these was a piece of Romano-British grey ware rim belonging to a wide-mouthed jar. No features were associated with the finds. It was difficult to ascertain whether some of the flakes were man-made. The pottery was mainly post-medieval in date. (1)
