Full Description

Now demolished for retail park.
Three-storey high, 3 bay house with Flemish Bond brickwork (Structure 17 in TPAT report). Pantiled roof with two stacks. The first two bays have a three course brick string course. Cogging is used at the eaves course to the front and dentilation to the rear. There are lightly cambered window heads on the first two floors, the upper floor having flat heads. The third bay appears to have the older brickwork and wider windows. It was formerly known as 'Trent House' and has been used as the Head Brewer’s House. It probably dates from the late C18 and was altered in the early C19. (1)
Two adjoining sheds (Structures 18a and 18b in the TPAT report), the remaining part of a line of outbuildings to the NE of the former Brew Master’s house. The shed that adjoins the house is brick-built in English Garden Wall Bond (1:3:1) and has a tall central window and a doorway. Inside there is a vaulted cellar, its stairs starting within the adjoining house. The adjoining shed was originally open at the SE end with its roof supported on brick piers. This was later filled in. The front has some attractive cast iron latticed window frames and some of the brickwork here looks like a rebuild. (1)
