Full Description

A wrought iron 'medallion' with scrolled metal posts forms the eastern entry point into the formal garden area (of Epperstone Manor). These are flanked by a pair of 3m high stone gate posts which have indented coursing and ball top finials. There is a reference to a "beautiful wrought iron gate from the time of Queen Anne" in the sale details of 1887. It is likeley that these represtn a copy or more recent C19 addition. (1)
