Full Description

A four bay, two-storey stone budiling under and pantile hipped roof. Now two dwellings with Meeting House Cottage forming 2/3 of the building (J Buckley NCC)
…in the late C18 it was functioning as a public house, The Blue Bell…by AD 1877 Mr Ramsden, the suire, had bought the Bell Bell and closed it down. Mr Ramsden was a non-conformist, belonging to the Society of Plymouth Brethren and behind the cottage he established a meeting house. (1)
This property is believed to be of 2 phases, with the earlier phase being the subject of tree-ring investiagtion. This analysis has shown this part of the building is constructed from timbers felled in AD 1651. (1)
