Full Description

Boundary oak on Clipstone Deer Park boundary. Local oral history holds the Parliament oak as the site where various dignitaries convered for the 1290 Michaelmas parliament held at Clipstone. Today two 'phoenix' oaks grow out of the root bowl which could have been as many as ten metres in circumference and would suggest an oak of considerable age. (1)
