Full Description

Identified by Michael Walker at the Notts Wildlife Trust and verified by E. Gillott. A wide linear depression extends the length of the wood on the NE side, and is approx 10-15 m SW of the current edge of the woods. There are 8 gaps along the bank at irregular intervals. It is unclear what this relates to, and it is unclear if it is natural or anthropogenic, though it was suggested it could be related to forestry activity. Some gaps seem to be depressions which run perpindicular to the edge of the woods and seem to run much of the length of the woods, though a full survey/lidar is needed to confirm this.

Field observation by E. Gillott, M. Walker, and T. Bedingfield (Personal comment). SNT5194.
