Full Description
These buildings are of architectural rarity and association. According to the 1851 Census, John Binkley was the Framesmith, who employed one man. Its other historic cottage industries include a butcher shop, forge and dairy. (1)
Main house and attached outbuilding: Main house brick built in Flemish bond Upper floor winodws have stone sills and lintels. Dogtooth eaves, and dogtooth to gable ends, under slate roof. Groundfloor has modern bow window and tripartite window. Original porch has header bond to the gable and dogtooth eaves under slate roof; small windows to the side walls of the porch have stone headers and sills. Low brick-built roadside boundary wall. 2 gable end stacks. Rear single-storey extension has slate roof. Outbuilding: Brick built on a stone plinth. Corbelled eaves with stone band under and pantile roof (now under solar panels). Ground floor windows are under true brick arches. Stone built extension under a pantile roof the the gable end.
