Full Description

Row of houses built for the mining industry. UPVC windows, and many buildings have been rendered. OS confirms buildings date from between 1879 and the turn of the century. Original brickwork and string course still visible on both end houses of the four in question. Middle two have been rendered and the roofs replaced with modern tiling. Original slate still visible on both houses still displaying original brick. All windows and doors seem to be UPVC. All have corbelled eaves in varying states of repair. Interesting plaque on second house (reads '1885'?) Confirmation requires as to wether or not they were built for the mining industry. In current state they are architecturally uninteresting although the history of the terrace needs further study. (1)
