Full Description

Portland Road school was built in 1826 by the Duke of Portland at a cost of £300. This closed in 1958 when Holly Hill Primary School was built opposite. Today this is a private residence, but previously it was the village baby and anti-natal clinic until 1991. (1)
OS confirms infants school here in 1879. Original brick still visible. Windows appear to be original sash with arched brick lintels. (NCC notes on 1)
