Full Description

Three-storey Victorian Villa. Brick-built with slate roof. Stone mullioned bay windows. First and second floor stone bands. Decorative corbelled eaves. (J Buckley, Street View observation, 2020).
This house was the residence of the owner of the Hucknall Cigar factory, which produced Havana Cigars. It is said that the money used to build the house was raised from his workers: Each time they were late they were charged a penny and it is these pennies that built the house. (1)
Building dates from turn of the century. 3 storey brick. Large bay windows, second floor left window still has mullion. Windows have been replaced by UPVC. House is now a nursing home. Intricate brickwork on door lintel including a fan light. Intricate eave, original slate roof. (NCC notes on 1)
