Full Description
Plough scatter over 3 adjacent fields; 10 sherds of Ro pottery, including Derbys ware. (1)
In the same area, a trial hole revealed much Ro pottery to a depth of 2ft 10in in disturbed natural subsoil. (2)
Enquiries at the farm established that the indicated (centred) area is correct. The fields form the N side of a deep narrow valley, the westernmost facing E and the other 2 S. All are at present under brassicas and perambulation was not practicable. (3)
See L 8295 for flints. See M 2757 for hillfort, L 2759 for stone axe, L 2748 for Ro spearhead.
